Hawk/Kite/Falcon/Kestral/Harrier Gallery
Hawk's are a common sight in Arizona. We see Harris Hawk's
(Parabuteo unicinctus) quite often around our Bed & Breakfast.
These first two pictures are of a hawk on a low Palo Verde tree
branch. We have also see them dive into our back yard after
prey and we have also seen small birds chase the hawks away.
We see hawks, harriers, kites, kestrals, and falcons on street lights
and telephone poles, especially in the dawn hours. I've seen
them on multiple occasions diving into the underbrush and flying
out with a lizard, snake, or packrat in its talons.
