Biosphere 2
The University of Arizona's Biosphere 2 "Where Science Lives!"
Under the Glass guided tours are available throughout the day.
Habitats:
Human habitat for the Biopherians, tropical savanna, 40-ft
ocean cliff, 1 million gallon tropical ocean, lower savanna,
mangrove, tropical thorn scrub, coastal fog desert,
technosphere, tropical rainforest, and the Biosphere's lungs!
Research Overview:
The research component of Bisophere 2 aims to catalyze
interdisciplinary thinking and understanding about the
Earth, its living systems, and its future.
The B2 Institute tackles and defines scientific grand
challenges. The focus is on breaking down disciplinary
divides and facilitating the translation of basic research
to real-world applications.
B2 Earthscience conducts research in the earth system and
environmental sciences that examines
soil-water-atmosphere-plant interactions. Improving
understanding of these interactions will be important in
gaining insight into the impacts and causes of global
environmental change and variation. The Biosphere 2 facility
allows for experimentation at unprecedented spatial extents.

Tucson AZ offers some of the best opportunities for sky
and star gazing. Tucson has 300+ days per year of clear
skies and city ordinances limit light pollution that
would effect Kitt Peak Nat'l Observatory. The benefit
for the general public is great nighttime sky viewing.
Here are some Satellite Visibility Predictions for
Tucson, AZ for the upcoming week:
