Tucson Gem & Mineral Show
For two weeks every winter, the world meets in Tucson as it
becomes a bustling, international marketplace of buyers and
sellers at the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase.
The "Gem Show" is much more than a single event at one location.
Rather, there are thousands of participants and attendees at
nearly 50 sites around town. Dozens of shows take place at the
same time - in giant white tents, at hotels and resorts and at
exhibit halls.
There's something for everyone at the many open-to-the-public
shows - from gold and diamonds to granite bookends and glass
beads, and from fine specimens of dinosaur fossils to opals
dug from the Australian Outback.
The main event of this two-week showcase is the Tucson Gem &
Mineral Show™ which packs downtown's Tucson Convention Center
over the final weekend. This show attracts thousands of
treasure hunters from every corner of the globe and is open
to the public. There are displays from renowned museums and
private collections along with over 250 mineral, gemstone,
jewelry and fossil retail dealers. It also features hands-on
exhibits only for school children.

La Fiesta de los Vaqueros, Tucson Rodeo
The first La Fiesta de los Vaqueros (Celebration of the Cowboys)
in 1925 touted three days of events and competition. Today, the
event has grown to a nine-day celebration centered on the Tucson
Rodeo, one of the top 25 professional rodeos in North America.
Current and former Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA)
world champions are featured in each Tucson Rodeo.
The Tucson Rodeo Parade is billed as the world’s longest
non-motorized parade. This two-hour spectacle features
western-themed floats and buggies, historic horse-drawn coaches,
festive Mexican folk dancers, marching bands and outfitted riders.
An estimated 200,000 spectators view the parade each year.
Rodeo events include bull riding, bareback and saddle bronco
riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping and women’s
barrel racing.

The All Souls Procession
A unique Tucson experience!
The All Souls Procession is perhaps one of the most important,
inclusive and authentic public ceremonies in North America today.
Inspired by Mexico's Dia de los Muertos holiday, the event has
grown to over 20,000 participants on the streets of downtown
Tucson for a two-mile long human-powered procession that ends
in the finalizing action of burning a large urn filled with the
hopes, offerings and wishes of the public for those who have passed.
Sponsored by Many Mouths One Stomach (www.manymouths.org), a
non-profit arts collective based in Tucson, AZ.
The Procession is a sanctuary for community members from all walks
of life to express their grief and loss in a celebration of creative
energy and a rejoicing of living.
Workshops include: All SOuls International Film Festival,
Ancestors Project, Art Installations, Community Altar,
Dance of the Dead, Littel Angels, Mask Making, Personal
Altars, Photo Exhibit, Remembering Dinner, Spoken Word

El Tour de Tucson
El Tour is a fun ride attracting some over 9,000 cyclists of
all ages and abilities from throughout the United States and
beyond, including novice, intermediate, advanced, and
professional riders.
Participants often take part in El Tour and its festivities
simply due to their passion for cycling, while others choose
the event as part of a healthy lifestyle change or as part of
their wellness program as a survivor from cancer or other
life-threatening illness.
Many are attracted to El Tour’s variety of fund-raising
programs for charitable agencies, for which the event raised
over $1.8 million dollars last year.
What all riders of El Tour share is a desire to get on their
